1. Kalamata Castle
It stands out as the most famous panoramic viewpoint in Kalamata. Located on a hill rising above the city, it offers a 360° view of the Messinian Gulf, the urban center, and the surrounding mountains. Ideal for sunsets. The castle is open to the public (€2 entrance) and hosts summer events – both the view and the historical setting have made it a world-renowned spot.
2. Portali – Restaurants “Kastraki” & “Para Pente”
On the northern side of the hill above the city center, Kastraki and Para Pente offer excellent views over the city, combined with high-quality food or drinks. The road ascends through a pine forest, and the view from the restaurant is described as “world-class” by travelers.
3. Ano Verga and Mount Kalathis (Kalathi) – Taygetos
